Designed especially for neurobiologists, FluoRender is an interactive tool for multi-channel fluorescence microscopy data visualization and analysis.
Deep brain stimulation
BrainStimulator is a set of networks that are used in SCIRun to perform simulations of brain stimulation such as transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and magnetic transcranial stimulation (TMS).
Developing software tools for science has always been a central vision of the SCI Institute.

  • B.S. in Computer Science and minor in Math, University of Utah, 1993
  • M.S. in Computational Engineering and Science, University of Utah, 2009
  • Ph.D. in Computing - Scientific Computing Track, University of Utah, expected

Professional Experience:

I worked in the fast growing software development industry for more than 3 years as Sr. Software Engineer for ICIS Inc. I participated in all phases of software development, design, coding, installation, documentation, and support for both automated and conventional Material Handling systems. I worked on projects for Apple Computer in Fountain Colorado, Fuji Film in South Carolina, and HP (clean room) in Corvallis Oregon.

After that I worked for the Seismograph Stations at University of Utah for almost 11 years, as a Computer Professional. Since there was only one person to take care of all their computational needs, I had many hats to put on. I managed all systems both hardware and software, designed and purchased new systems, wrote software, and supported faculty and staff among many other things. Some of the major milestones that I managed and successfully crossed were: 1) Y2K compliant (which was particularly challenging with some of the old century systems they had) 2) Winter Olympics 2002. Over all during the time I was at Seismograph Stations, almost all of their servers, workstations, and personal computers were upgraded with newer technology and platforms, at least twice.
