I received my MS and Ph.D. degrees from the Technical University of Catalonia – Barcelona Tech. Before joining SCI, I was a research faculty at Rutgers University, a permanent researcher at Barcelona Supercomputing Center, and a research intern at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center.

I am a staff Research Scientist with over 15 years of experience in cyber-infrastructure projects, including leadership roles in architecting, constructing, and operating high-performance computing infrastructure and the cyberinfrastructure for large science facilities such as the NSF Ocean Observatories Initiative (OOI) and research platforms such as the Virtual Data Collaboratory (VDC).

My research interests fall in the broad area of parallel and distributed computing and data-driven science and engineering, including high-performance computing, cloud, and edge computing, green computing, and big data systems. My current research also addresses new cyberinfrastructure models and aims at enabling the scalability and sustainability of next-generation cyberinfrastructure, including infrastructure co-design for big data management, data analytics, and data systems, which fundamentally impacts science across multiple domains with a focus on earth observation and environmental sciences. I have received various awards for my research and publications, including the IEEE TCSC Young Achievers in Scalable Computing Award. I am a senior member of IEEE and ACM.
