Designed especially for neurobiologists, FluoRender is an interactive tool for multi-channel fluorescence microscopy data visualization and analysis.
Deep brain stimulation
BrainStimulator is a set of networks that are used in SCIRun to perform simulations of brain stimulation such as transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and magnetic transcranial stimulation (TMS).
Developing software tools for science has always been a central vision of the SCI Institute.

Background

I received a B.C.S and B.S. in Mathematics at Calvin College in 2006, and an M.S. in Computer Information Systems from GVSU in 2016. Previously, I have been working as a Research Software Engineer at Rutgers, developing middleware support libraries for use by simulation codes.

Current Responsibilities

I am primarily working on the DataSpaces project (www.dataspaces.org), a data management framework for in-situ scientific workflows at extreme scale. Additionally, as part of the Whole-Device Model project (https://www.exascaleproject.org/research-project/wdmapp/), I am working on workflow scripting and coordination middleware.

Research Interests

  • Large scale data management for in-situ workflow interactions
  • Flexible workflow coordination and composition
